Help for Play Hard Hoops Player Eli Rodriguez

Donation protected

On February 15 fifth grade PHH travel player, Eli Rodriguez lost his father, Rick. Eli and his mother, Joanna, witnessed the passing as they waited for help to arrive.

Rick was a gregarious and friendly person, but more importantly, a cheerleader to his son.

Before Covid restrictions were put into place, Rick never missed a game. He could be seen running the scoreboard in the PHH Winter Leagues and shuttled Eli to and from games and practices.

Since spring of his 3rd grade year, Eli has done every PHH session from Fall-Spring and some of the summer camps.

The shocking passing of Rick has left Joanna and Eli in a tough spot and they need any support the PHH community can give as they hope to be able to keep Eli active in basketball, part of a team and for them to pick up the pieces from their sudden loss.

For many of us March Madness is one of our favorite times of the year, better weather, the crack of the bat for baseball and the greatest tournament of all time. This year though I will also be reminded of so many who have gone through hardships due to Covid and those less fortunate.  This is one way to help a family I know that is facing a very challenging time this spring.

I will match the first $1000 raised with a donation from Play Hard Hoops!

Thank you from all of us at PHH
