Help for my son who has Asperger's legal Crisis

I am setting up this campaign to help my son who has Asperger's which is of the Autism spectrum of disorders. (This photo of him dates a couple of years back with his favourite doodle, but I love this photo of him, it shows his true nature.) Asperger's typically causes issues with communication, emotion regulation and interpretation, emotional immaturity ( often like children in an adult body), and lack of social interactions leading to isolation, depression, social anxiety, addictions and panic attacks that are known as Asperger's meltdown. He has overcome many of these challenges over the years and improved remarkably but now faces a huge challenge with a legal situation. Although I do not want to put here what he did as it would be too embarrassing for him, he did not hurt anyone, other than himself. I am not condoning what he did but I understand how it happened, that it was a result of his loneliness, isolation and immaturity and there was no intent.

Most adults with Asperger's have difficulty finding work because of a lack of social interaction skills and social anxiety. And this has been so for Aaron, work has been spotty for him, mainly found through friends and acquaintances. But all have said he works for two because he does not get distracted by people. Just this spring he was able to start a career working in a company with his brother, who is there to guide him and take care of communication and social interactions when necessary. Aaron is a hard worker and capable when given the opportunity and this opportunity is great for his future especially since he has gotten a lot of his addictions under control as well. We just need to get him through this rough patch, so he does not lose that opportunity.

We have retained a lawyer that works with clients in the Autism spectrum of disorders. This was necessary for the best possible outcome. Because of course, it has to be shown to the courts that he has a condition. This type of lawyer's fees are astronomical. Any jail time for someone with Asperger's though would be devastating. Having Asperger's already creates somewhat of a downward spiral in life, jail time even if only 6 months would not only destroy any hope of his future but send him into an emotional downward spiral of depression and he would lose so much he has already overcome. He would not be able to cope as he is like a child in an adult body. He has been crying and crying since this happened. He will also need a Neuro-Psychological assessment for the court and ongoing counseling. This will all be a long expensive drawn-out process through the court system and he needs financial help to get through this.

Aaron is very soft and warmhearted. He loves and adores animals and because of his social isolation spends much of his alone time on the internet. He loves watching videos and pictures of animals. Dogs are his favourite. When he was a child if we went somewhere he would take all his stuffed animals with him. He was adamant that all had to come, not one left behind.
