Help Margie DeSimone...

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out because my aunt, Margie DeSimone, has recently fallen on hard times and could desperately use some help with medical and living expenses. Over the last few years, she faced serious health issues, including lung cancer (now in remission!) and most recently, a bout of heart ailments, which resulted in a pacemaker and a stint out of work. At 77, she continues to work a full-time job just to make ends meet, with no retirement in sight as her expenses continue to pile up. To make matters worse, her car was stolen last night from her apartment complex — taking away her lifeline.

Even though she keeps her struggles to herself, I can't turn a blind eye to her situation. So, I humbly ask for your support to ease some of her hardships.

If you know Margie, then you know the selfless, fun, happy-go-lucky person she is, and she likely has impacted your life for the better. She can’t go anywhere without running into someone she has helped or made smile. Whether it’s from her decades as a limousine or school bus driver, families often recall her infamous Christmases, where she’d play the perfect Mrs. Claus -- even dipping into her own savings to ensure children had treats for the holidays. But her proudest accomplishment was caring for her beloved husband, Al, through his battle with Muscular Dystrophy. She became a volunteer at Our Lady of Consolation nursing home, where Al was a resident, taking patients to mass, giving communication, hosting pizza lunches, acting as an advocate and making sure everyone had what they needed – and more. Even after Al passed away, Margie continued to volunteer at Consolation, taking part in the “No One Dies Alone” program, sitting vigil with residents who had no family to offer comfort in their last days.
