Help for Major & Family
Donation protected
As many people have heard or seen on the news, my severely autistic 5 year old nephew Major wondered out of his house and was struck by a semi on Highway 44 Wednesday evening. He was life flighted to a Columbia hospital where he underwent surgery to remove his spleen and stop internal bleeding. He has a broken clavicle, broken femur, skull fracture and bruised lungs. He had two chest tubes placed. He was then flown to a Children’s hospital for care. Today he underwent surgery to place rods in his femur. His ventilator has been reduced to 35%, as he is able to breath on his own at 65%. He is waiting more brain scans to monitor brain activity. As of right now, there is no determined outcome or estimated recovery time. He has a long road ahead of him. His mother, father and brother are by his side 100% every day. They are hoping to get help with accommodations through the Ronald McDonald House, but there is a long wait list and traveling 3 hours one way isn’t possible. Any help with expenses so they can continue to be by his side would be appreciated.
