It is with the heaviest heart that I write this update, an update I so badly wish I did not have to give. My brother in-law Jason Layne is nearing the end of his 16 month battle with pancreatic cancer. On Monday 11/14 he suffered a stroke with lasting deficits. On 11/15 he chose to enter into Hospice Care so that he could be home with his family.
Up until this most recent stroke, Jason and Sue continued to work while he battled this beast. My sister Sue will now be taking a leave of absence from her new job working nights as a registered nurse. This will allow her to be by his side as both a wife and a caregiver. She initially took this new job to be closer to home due to Jason's illness- not anticipating how fast his cancer was going to progress. She has not even completed her orientation and unfortunately is ineligible for any benefits.
Throughout this journey Jason and Sue have been an inspiration to so many for their courage and immense love for Jesus Christ. I have been so humbled by their faith and trust in our Lord. They have only asked for our prayers throughout this journey and continue to do so now.
So many of their family and friends have reached out asking how they can help. Our family would like to give them some relief from the financial burdens that will occur with the sudden loss of income.
We appreciate all the love and support for Jason and Sue.
Gods blessings to all.
