Help For Hurricane Ian Victim, Trixie Parkes

Hi. My name is Elizabeth, and I’m looking to raise money to help one of my very best friends who was severely impacted by hurricane Ian. I reside in central PA, and my friend Trish is in SW FL. Trish and her dad went in on a residential property in Fort Myers Beach in the 90’s. Her dad lived in one of the 4 bedroom apartments until earlier this year, when he had to be placed in a home due to dementia. Trish stayed in another apartment that had recently been renovated, and was renovating the place her dad had lived in. She rented out another apartment to year-round tenant’s, while the last of the 4 apartments was used for Airbnb rents. Trish’s livelihood depended on these rentals. On September 28, 2022, hurricane Ian hit the island of Fort Myers Beach, with a 15 foot storm surge and 140mph winds. Although the storm destroyed nearly everything in its path, Trish and her daughter had evacuated across the state two days prior to landfall, so their lives were spared. Unfortunately, her place, and everything in it, were now gone. Her mom’s urn…gone. Photos, momentos, family heirlooms, her car…all swept away. She and her daughter are currently staying across the state with relatives, because she has no home to return to. Although she has met with FEMA, they sadly aren’t doing much of anything, and despite having insurance, her insurance company is telling her there’s not a lot they can do. She and her family need

help. She has no place to live, and no income, as her home was just that. Any little bit you could spare, would help tremendously with her journey to getting back on her feet.
