Ginny and Christian are newly married and shared a home in Paradise , CA. They were working hard to renovate their home, pouring a lot of money and time and energy into creating their forever home for their four children. They have 3 teenagers and a 6 year old. Unfortunately they won’t be getting much money for their home, if any, as they were renting from family and it is not covered.
Ginny’s story: “In the early morning of 11/8 I arrived at work at 8am, after dropping our four children off at school, to black sky and ash falling the size of my hands. I made a very quick decision to leave and grab my children without yet knowing the extent of this soon to be devastating fire. I picked them all up and raced home to our road, already surrounded by fire. We ran in with only enough time to collect an arm full of things each. We grabbed our animals and left. We made it off our street within minutes of losing our lives. We later found out some of our neighbors behind us were not so lucky. We are lucky to be alive, but now need to find a way to move forward and start our new lives, wherever that may be. We have never had to ask for help before, this is very hard. We are so grateful for the amount of love, support, community and humanity this traumatic event has brought to us.”
