Today my parents, my brother, my niece and her family lost their homes and every worldly possession when the Park Fire raged through their mountain community of Cohasset, CA. For my elderly parents - my step-dad Jamey Autrey, a disabled Vietnam veteran and my mama Rita Autrey, a deeply loving matriarch who dedicated her life to nurturing our growing family - this home in the forest was their salvation. Suffering through unthinkable tragedies over the years, they've always consoled themselves with the fact that they had their haven in the trees. Now it's all gone, everything, they had no insurance, and they were already worrying about how to make their meager savings last through these late years. I would be so deeply grateful for any help for them. And if donating to this GoFundMe isn't an option, if you can share any leads on a free or very affordable mobile home, tools to clear away the wreckage and for rebuilding, etc. that would be a godsend.
If you would be willing to share this plea far and wide, that would also help so much. And if you can help surround them with your loving thoughts and prayers as they try to find their way forward, that will be so powerful too.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
