She was a happily married newly wed just a few years ago when she came to me saying that some abnormal things were happening to her.  

Abnormal was all it was but unfortunately, that's not where it stayed. My dear friend of years began coming to me and telling me that she was confused because she would be having a night cap with her husband but would black out and not remember what had happened the next morning.  She knew she had only had one glass but yet she would black out.  

After a while she suspected that her husband was slipping something into her drink but it was such a crazy idea that she couldn't imagine that he would do something like that.  It wasn't until an incident at a restaurant that her worst fears were confirmed.

Her and her husband had been waiting at a restaurant bar to be seated.  They ordered a drink before she went to go to the bathroom.  When she returned, after her husband got up to go to the restroom later, the bartender leaned over to let her know that he thought that the man she was with (her husband) had slipped something into her drink.

She didn't know what to do.  She confronted him only to be made to feel like she was crazy.  She stopped putting herself in that situation and things got worse as she was abused while asleep as well as put in horrible, inappropriate, forceful situations while her kids were in the room.

Despite marriage counseling and multiple "I'll do better." "And I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it." things did not get better.

Being someone who had suffered from previous sexual abuse, this abuse caused confusion, self blame, and hopelessness.  Once I discovered the depth of what was going on I encouraged her to get out of the house right away.

She was on the verge of a major break down but she gathered her bravery and she left - with her 3 children.  She left everything but a few changes of clothes and came down to escape the abuse, the gaslighting, and the lies.  

She has nothing and needs to start to build a new life.  All money raised will go directly to this single mother to get a vehicle, have a down payment on a home to rent and feed her children.  She is a hard working woman who just needs a helping hand to get up on her feet after escaping years of sexual abuse.

This story sounds like it's out of a movie but unfortunately, this is REAL. My friend is a real, beautiful soul that never thought this would happen to her.  I NEVER thought this would happen to her.  The kids don't deserve this.  She doesn't deserve this.  Thank you to everyone who feels led to help this kind, beautiful woman get back up on her feet!   Because, she's worth it.  She CAN and she WILL.
