Help for family of detained husband and father

Donation protected
I am close with a family whose primary breadwinner was detained after being pulled over by police for safely going around a car that was remaining still after beeping at a stop sign and considerable time had passed - with the road empty and free to turn onto. You can feel however you do about immigrants, but these ones pay their taxes, work within their cultural community, step on nobody's toes, and are active in their faith. Their small local church is trying to help, but I doubt this is the only family they are helping and during this pandemic crisis and their financial support to this family can only last so long.

The remaining parent is a mother of four US citizens - and one of her children has a developmental disability which makes it harder for her to go out and acquire everything the family needs. Her husband is not fed well in detention, and ridiculously high amounts are taxed off of what she gives him for commissary (ex. -$60 out of a $300 deposit). Not to mention the absurdly large fees just to speak to him! Conditions are very poor where he is, and many have been infected with COVID-19.

This little bit of money is to help rent and food costs for this family, since their primary method of income has been detained with little hope in sight - and no estimated timeline given of when to expect release or trial.

At the very least, in the event he is deported soon, this money can subsidize costs and help them to stay & travel together to a country that no family member has seen in over 15 years. Costs back are so expensive and prohibitive for them that the parents were unable to return for the funerals of their own parents. Regardless, they have had their passports ready to go since 2016 just in case it came to this. In a dark, grim world, I'm asking you to shed even just five bucks off of that stimulus check to help this family out with a little bit of light. I have known and loved them for 4 years,  and they are good and caring people who are doing their best.

Gofundme suggests telling the who what where when of the story, but the sensitive nature of their situation and HIPAA laws truly make me unable to oblige with that ethically or legally.
