Help for Carm & Family while she recovers!

Hi, I'm Carm's niece, Ashley. Personally, Carm has been a huge part of my life, and she will always be one of my favorite humans on the planet, with a heart of gold and love for her family like no other! I feel starting this go fund me is the very least I can do to help Carm, Gillian and her grandchildren, who think the world over her!

 

As many of you have heard, Carm suffered a moderate to large, life-threatening stroke on Saturday while at work, leaving her paralyzed on the left side. She wouldn’t be here without the quick action of the boys she was caring for. Her prognosis at this point is unknown, and we are taking it day by day. Cognitively she’s still with us, but they can’t tell us if she will ever walk again, let alone drive or work, and we don’t want her to have to worry about that.

 

I have been in constant communication with Gillian. We have learned that she will need extensive physiotherapy in and out of the hospital over the next 3-6 months. We want to be able to support her as she is the foundation of their family.

 

Gillian's home isn’t suitable for her as it is, and they do not want to put her in a home.

 

They are contacting contractors to make their garage into a living space with an accessible bathroom so that she can stay at home with Gillian and her family.

 

Carm was a big help to Gillian's family financially, so affording to do this on their own will be difficult as they have taken over any other payments that she had.
