HELP BROWNIE BOX LONDON

Brownie Box was started in 2011 by my sister Kristi, you’ll probably know her as the friendly barista who’s been serving you coffees for the past 9 years. Alongside Kristi and often behind the scenes my mom (the brains behind every single delectable treat you’ve had, AKA Mrs Brownie Box), Niki (the sculptress who creates adorable edible creatures and decorations for all our beautiful cakes), my dad (the finance guy, you’ll catch him drinking coffee and socialising most evenings) and me (Stef, the youngest and the person behind making sure things run as smoothly as possible) have poured heart and soul into building more than just a coffee shop, we have built a community, a family of regulars whose lives have become intertwined with ours. It’s been the most challenging and rewarding 9 years of our lives but it’s only been possible because of the team we have supporting us. Ama & Telara (who have basically become like adopted sisters) our Brownie Bakers who are always up to help, whether that’s extra hours on a busy weekend or just a hug when one of us is feeling overwhelmed. Our ALWAYS smiling front of house team of baristas - Becky, Romina and some new faces who are quickly becoming part of the family too. Without them we wouldn’t cope. 

As we enter this time of unprecedented confusion, we fear for many things. The health and safety of ourselves, our brownie box family, our customers and how long we’ll be able to keep our doors open. But as a small independent family run shop we also fear for the financial security of the incredible staff we employ. As our business slowly decreases and as the days march on towards us inevitably closing our doors we know that we are likely to be unable to offer our staff very much in the way of leave pay. And that’s where you guys come in - what I failed to mention before was that the reason we’ve been here smiling all these years is because of our customers - you’ve become friends. And in this time of need we’re asking for help. All donations will go to paying leave pay to our staff over the next month. And once this is over - bring your receipt of donation inand for donations under £15 receive a free hot drink and piece of original brownie/blondie - for donations over £15 receive a free 6” personalised cake. 

Donations aside we are overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity our community has shown us throughout these uncertain times and we look forward to the days ahead where things go back to normal and we can continue to supply you with smiling faces, delicious coffees and incredible treats.
