My name is Cammie and my niece and her sweet family need your help!
Emily and Mike were expecting a sweet baby boy on August 31st. They had their first baby shower on June 12, 2021 and two days later, everything changed very fast. Emily had been experiencing lots of swelling and headaches. During her doctor's appointment for her glucose test, her blood pressure was very high and she was admitted to the hospital. Emily had severe preeclampsia. After a few hours in the hospital, it became clear that to save the life of Emily and baby Landon, an emergency c-section was necessary. Emily was just 29 weeks pregnant. Landon was born at 3:24 pm on June 14, 2021. He was 2 pounds 13 ounces.
Landon was whisked away almost immediately and Emily and Mike had just a short time to meet their preemie baby boy. He needed to be transported to the NICU at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital. In the days since Landon has made his early entrance into this scary world, Mike has been going back and forth between seeing his new son in Conyers and being with Emily in Covington at Piedmont Newton Hospital (about 20 minutes apart). Mike has been Face-timing with Emily so that she could talk to her sweet baby Landon since she has not been able to see him since he was born.
Unfortunately, Emily's severe preeclampsia symptoms have continued despite the hard work of the medical staff. Due to Covid restrictions, there are restrictions on the number of people that can be with Emily and the NICU is restricted to only the baby's parents. Mike has to return to work tomorrow and Emily is still in the hospital. Emily has unexpectedly had to stop working and her return to work is unknown. Baby Landon is going to remain in the NICU for many weeks to come. The hospital that Landon is at is about 45 minutes away from Emily and Mike's home.
The future is unknown for this young family and baby Landon's needs are unknown. They are in need your prayers and if you feel led to give financially, I know that the money would be used for Landon's needs, medical bills and travel to and from the hospital over the next few months.
