Help for Baby Kacen
Donation protected
Hi I am Jody and am a friend and coworker of Rachel and her family. Many of you may know Rachel as she has lived in this community most of her life. She works for Head Start as a Preschool teacher for the last ten years. Working with children is her passion. Her Husband Nick also works in the community for Northern Air. They have a 17 month old right now that keeps them on their toes. :) His name is Keith and excited for the arrival of his baby brother. They are expecting baby number two (Baby Kacen) any day now. I am looking to help raise a little extra money to help them in a time of need and hope that you can also help, even if its only a few dollars any little bit helps.
THEIR STORY~
Rachel is currently 34 weeks along and is starting to have many complications with her pregnancy. Some of these have had her in the hospital already with the scare of Kacen wanting to come a little to early. Baby Kacen was Diagnosed with Down Syndrome at 18 weeks along. With this Rachel has had many Doctor appointments with the specialists at the Children's Hospital in the cities to make sure that her and baby are doing good. Just recently they found out that Kacen will have to have surgery right after he is born due to a blockage in his intestines. He has what is called Duodenal Stenosis ( double bubble). Due to this he has to be delivered at 37 weeks if not sooner. He will need surgery right after he is born. He will be in the NICU for several weeks to a few months. He has to be delivered at the Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. In this time Rachel and her Husband Nick will not be working much and traveling back and forth to the cities quite often as they also have a 17 month old at home they have to take care of as well. This will be a challenge with one of them possibly having to stay down there with Kacen at all times. This will be a financial hardship for them as they will use these funds for any travel expenses and medical bills that insurance may not cover.
The family would be grateful for any donation and support to help with this financial and emotional stress
