Help for Baby Colton
Donation protected
Paige Ferguson and Blake Linton have been at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital caring for their 4 month old baby since Wednesday, January 24.
This is an hour from home and unexpected. While at the hospital, the doctors found that Colton has two structural abnormalities that have significantly impacted his eating and breathing. One being that his airway is very narrow. (Subglottic Stenosis.) The second finding was a laryngeal cleft. It created a large hole between his voice box and his esophagus. They filled this hole with a gel that hardens to the same consistency as the surrounding tissue. This may work, but sometimes the gel does not take. If it doesn't work, Colton will be fed by a GI tube for the next few years. However, if the gel does work it only lasts about 2-3 months. So, this procedure will need to be repeated every 2-3 months over the next few years. This will be hard for the whole family. Hospitals are very expensive to live out of. No donation is too small!!
