Help for Ava and her mom Billie!

Ava has been such a Trisomy 18 warrior for 16 years. Yesterday, she fell ill. (See below). Billie is a single mom and has done such an amazing job at caring for Ava as any mom in her shoes would. They moved from central Illinois to Minnesota to be closer to quality hospitals and most importantly so that Billie could serve as Ava’s caregiver and be paid to do so. With Ava in the hospital, Billie does not have a source of income. We are asking for help with the monthly expenses.

Billie’s family has also lost the patriarch of their family a few weeks ago. This compounded grief is complicated and we want to help alleviate some of the financial stress.

Our sweet Ava has passed away. She provided the gift of organ donation for many. As complicated as this is, Billie is now left with grief and loss and without a source of income. Billie's monthly expenses remain to be paid. As she transitions to life without Ava, she will be seeking a new way of being in the world to support herself. The purpose of this GoFundMe page is to help her navigate this uncertain period of time.

9/11/23 Please keep Ava in your thoughts Please. After 16 years I had to call 911 for the first time and take our first ambulance ride. Her heart rate is extremely elevated, sats just a lil low, she was cold and clammy and lethargic. The paramedic suspects she may have an infection somewhere and possibly be septic. We are at the hospital now and she is stable.

9/12/23 She made it through surgery last night. There was a lot of twisted a dead bowel they had to take out. Like last time it's still open with a wound vac so she still has a LONG road ahead of her. The other concern continues to be how much brain damage may have been done from how long she was down during the cpr. Please continue sending all your love we definitely feel it and my babygirl needs everything she can get right now.
