Marc and Tara are so excited to welcome baby Blakely to their family! His arrival has been long awaited as their baby journey has taken nearly 10 years!

The adoption process takes much longer and is much more expensive than many of us may realize. We have started this GoFundMe page to help them with some of these expenses.

Blakely’s Birth Story:

Marc and Tara met Blakely’s birthmother on January 12th. She was due January 31st but had been a week late with her previous biological children so his early arrival was a surprise. On January 17th at 1:48am, they recieved a text that she was in labour. Blakey was born at 2:27pm and in Marc and Tara’s arms by 9:30pm. It was such a magical day!

With only having 5 days notice before Blakely’s arrival, Marc and Tara had to quickly get ready. Everything moved very fast and many things needed to be purchased on a whim to get ready for his arrival.

In addition to all the expenses of a new baby (diapers, formula, clothes, toys, nursery items, etc) they have had the expenses of things needed for adoption such as fingerprinting, criminal record checks, medicals and homestudy updates. Lawyers are also involved in adoption and they have had to cover this as well.

They have just received a bill from the adoption agency of $4300. This covers supervision of placement, preparation of documents for the order of adoption, birthparent counciling, preparation of social medical history. This is what we would like to ask for help with. Marc and Tara are both still working full time to help support their new family of 3, while adjusting to life with a new baby.

As a community of friends, family, neighbors, fellow parents, etc, we hope to help them cover this expense.
