Help fly fishing guide Brian replace stolen gear.
Donation protected
Fly fishing is the lifeblood of the upper Delaware River Valley. The guides that work it all season long make it possible for people from all over to experience the world class fishing the region has to offer. Guides are some of the hardest working people around, working as many as 150 days between April and November. They work from dawn to dusk, driving all over and rowing mile after mile of river. Without the guides, our region would not be where it is today.
Another important fact about fishing guides is that it requires a lot of gear to make a day on the water work. They have to be ready for any scenario which means loading lots of bags full of fly boxes, leaders, floats etc. All this gear is furnished by the guide themselves and are their tools of the trade.
On February 10th, Brian Sheppard (@cityflynyc) had his car broken into in NYC. The thieves stole over $6000 worth of gear right as he was set to begin his 2022 season, forcing him to cancel trips and try and rebuild.
We are starting this gofundme to help him rebuild. Below is a list of the items stolen. While monetary donations are certainly the simplest way to help Brian get back on his feet, gear donations are just as big of a help. If you are a tyer and want to donate some flies (especially dries) that would be amazing. Work for an outfitter? Maybe you’ve got some Simms bags to donate. Reach out to Brian directly on his Instagram and offer a hand.
Thanks so much for any help you can give,
Tight Lines!
