I saw a post about a cat named Flor and I couldn’t stop thinking about her. A low income family in Plainfield has been trying their best to care for her, but her eye has gotten to the point where it’s literally at risk of rupturing/exploding. This isn’t just uncomfortable, it’s excruciatingly painful. The pressure, the infection, the swelling… it’s constant pain.
I kept going back to the post and feeling sick knowing she was sitting there suffering, so even though we really are not in the position financially to take this on right now, we said yes anyway.
Our organization, North Jersey Kitty Committee, will be covering Flor’s vetting and the eye removal surgery she desperately needs before it gets even worse. We have her consultation scheduled for tomorrow (March 31, 2026) at 3pm at Sheltering Vets/Twin Oaks.
This is not a small expense. With exam, meds, and surgery, we’re expecting somewhere around $1,000–$1,500. But leaving her like that is not an option.
We are asking for help. If you can donate anything at all to help us get Flor out of pain, it would mean everything to us, to her, and honestly to the family who didn’t want to watch her suffer but didn’t have the means. Please consider donating or sharing to get her out of pain.
