Hallo,

Mijn naam is Evy Bentvelzen, ik ben 26 jaar en werk als Supply Chain Professional bij Ubrands. Dit jaar zet Ubrands zich in voor stichting FloJa Malawi, een Nederlandse stichting die zich inzet voor de duurzame ontwikkeling van de gemeenschap in Ngara, een dorp in het noorden van Malawi, Afrika.

FloJa Malawi biedt kwetsbare kinderen en hun omgeving een stevige basis voor een kansrijke toekomst door middel van educatie, voeding en gezondheidszorg. Hier zijn enkele van hun belangrijke projecten:

Onderwijs: FloJa runt een kleuterschool waar dagelijks ongeveer 90 kinderen onderwijs, ontbijt en lunch krijgen. Dit helpt niet alleen de kinderen, maar ook hun ouders, die hierdoor ongestoord kunnen werken.

In 2025 zet Ubrands haar expertise graag vrijwillig in voor FloJa. Daarom reist één van de medewerkers af naar Malawi om de organisatie op logistiek gebied te optimaliseren.

De gehele organisatie draait op vrijwilligers en is volledig afhankelijk van donaties en sponsoren. Daarom vraag ik uw hulp. Met uw donatie kunt u helpen om één van deze doelen te bereiken en een groot verschil te maken in het leven van deze kinderen en hun gemeenschap.

Na de sluiting van de fundraising zal ik uiteraard het gedoneerde bedrag bekendmaken en laten zien hoe we een verschil hebben gemaakt voor FloJa.

Dear Reader,

I am Evy Bentvelzen, 26 years old, and I work as a Supply Chain Professional at Ubrands, where I focus on optimizing work processes in the logistics sector.

This year, Ubrands is supporting the FloJa Malawi foundation in the north of Malawi, Africa. My colleagues and I are also volunteering for this foundation.

FloJa Malawi is a Dutch foundation dedicated to the sustainable development of the community in Ngara, a village in northern Malawi. Through education, nutrition, and healthcare, FloJa Malawi provides vulnerable children and their surroundings with a solid foundation for a promising future. FloJa focuses on several key areas:

1. Education: FloJa runs a preschool where approximately 90 children receive education, breakfast, and lunch daily. This not only helps the children but also their parents, who can work uninterrupted.

2. Healthcare: They support a clinic for chronic patients in collaboration with the hospital in Karonga. This project provides medical care to people with long-term conditions.

3. Nutrition: FloJa has established a Moringa plantation. Moringa is a tree whose leaves are rich in nutrients. These are distributed to children and the sick to improve their health.

4. Renovation: The foundation is working on renovating their buildings to improve and make the facilities more sustainable.

5. Youth Training: The Youth Skill Orientation and Internship Program (YSOIP) offers young people the opportunity to learn practical skills and gain work experience, improving their future prospects.

In 2025, Ubrands is pleased to volunteer its expertise for FloJa. Therefore, one of the employees will travel to Malawi to optimize the organization in the logistics area.
