Help Me Care for My Sick Friend - Transport woes
I do a lot of driving to help my dear friend every day with her daily life. Shopping, going to appointments, making sure she has her medications, making sure she has showered and changed her clothes, do the washing and keep her company for a few hours every day.
It is a long drive to her place and back home and my old car is feeling it, as well as I am. I cannot get a carers pension yet so the costs are getting a bit out of my control. I cannot afford a new car, so keeping my old car running is a must. As of this moment, the car is running okay but if I do not get some items fixed soon it won't be and I will have severe difficulty caring for my dear friend.
$2500 sounds like a lot, well it is a lot to me as I barely have $10 in the bank at any one time. This money would help me keep the car on the road with new tires and service with my suspension repaired. I do have a mechanic who will do work cheaper for me, to help keep me mobile, but I find I must now ask for help.
I'd like to raise whatever funds I can as soon as possible. I need tyres. I drive 150km a day to help and these are an important need.
My friend is not very well and because of some personal tragedy, she is not doing very well at all lately. This gofundme will go a long way in helping me keep being that care option. And at this moment a little bit of hope in her darkness.
Thank you all for considering this. Believe me, it is a hard thing to admit that you help from others. I am sometimes ashamed to think I now need to beg for a little so I can help someone else, but there you have it, my options are few.
For all of you who share, help or even mention me in passing, thank you so very much. There are many support groups for those who need home-based support, but the support for carers is still not enough to cover looking after the vehicle you use for this care.
