My name is Dr. Leslie, and I am a forensic psychologist who has seen the criminal justice system fail victims of sexual trafficking time and time again. Pieper Lewis is a young Black girl who was repeatedly trafficked to adult men. In a desperate act of self-defense, she stabbed one of her rapists as he was choking her to death. She killed him. Instead of receiving the protection and support she deserved, Pieper was ordered by the courts to pay restitution to her abuser’s family and was placed in juvenile correctional schools in Georgia. She left the halfway house she was sentenced to for five years - because they were sexually abusing her. Now, she has been re-arrested for running away. This is torture. She is currently in the Polk County, Iowa detention center on a NO BOND arrest over the PROBATION VIOLATION. This is inexcusable.
One of Pieper’s former teachers started a GoFundMe for her, and it raised over $600,000! ... Pieper has never seen a dime of this money. Not ONE DIME has gone to Pieper, her attorneys, or the restitution demand to the rapist's family.
This story is bigger than anyone realizes. And THIS fundraiser…will actually be used for Pieper’s benefit. Your donations have already allowed me to figure this out and get lawyers involved.
This case is deeply personal to me. I have the resources and professional connections to help find Pieper, including a private investigator, lawyers, and FBI agents who are ready to assist. However, I cannot do this alone. The financial burden of providing for Pieper’s living, mental health, and medical needs is overwhelming. I am also committed to using these funds to help other girls who have suffered similar injustices at the hands of the system.
Pieper needs small items while in jail. Her hearing is supposed to be on February 20th, 2026.
-Black hair and skincare products
-Food to supplement the gross meals
-Hygiene products
-Tylenol (it's $2.00 for 2 pills)
-Colored pencils ($6.98)
-Paper
I am reaching out to you for help. The criminal justice system failed Pieper, but we can provide her with the care she needs. We can extend help to other survivors.
Please join me in standing up for Pieper and others like her. Together, we can make a real difference. Trafficking and sex crimes happen all day, every day, in America and in detention centers.
