Shepherd Food Ministries (SFM) operates within the framework of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals 1 & 2 (poverty and hunger) to alleviate food poverty among widows, orphans, elderly people, and children from impoverished families. SFM empowers widows by establishing cooperatives to provide access to microfinance. Additionally, SFM supports small holder farmers through access to microfinance and training to reduce post-harvest loss. SFM also encourages young people to engage in agribusiness through apprenticeships in crop and animal farming.
