Help Fever Fastpitch Start Over

In 2023, two local Bowler graduates set off on their journey of bringing the love for softball back into their community. After a very difficult first week of practices, numbers were just not there. They started with 7 players and ended the first week with 3 players. They were not about to give up.

Flash forward to just this past May, Bowler/Gresham started a Middle School Program. Sixteen girls showed up to the very first day of practice! Then 18. The word was out, and the love was growing. After concluding the first Middle School season, Fever Fastpitch was set to pave the way.

Starting from ground zero. Absolutely nothing! Not even a single ball. With the help of our very generous sponsors and hard work from all of our staff, we were able to purchase the basic needs for our first year as a team. Registration then opens. 9 girls, 15 girls, 25 girls, then we hit 33 girls located all throughout Shawano County. What in the world are we going to do now? Now our fear of not having enough girls for a single team turned into how in the world are all these girls going to get playing time?! Coaches sat down and divided themselves. We now have 3 teams.

Our very first season went tremendously well. We learned a lot, either that be about us individual coaches or the community that loves and supports us every day. We have created so many relationships with our talented athletes and their families.

To give us a big "Thank-you," we had our equipment stolen within the last 2 weeks. 85% or more of everything we've all worked our butts off to fundraise and a lot that came out of our coaches' personal pockets, gone. Our chances of growing this program next year- adding 2 additional teams, rebuilding a field also from ground zero- is looking slim to none.
