For the past two years, I have been making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the hungry in my community. This started as a simple act of faith and love, inspired by my desire to show Christ how much I care. Each sandwich is placed in a brown paper bag, along with fruit, bottled water, and a written scripture reading to uplift those who receive it. I also offer prayer to anyone who needs it, hoping to bring comfort and hope to their day.
As time has passed, I have seen the need grow. More people are coming for help, and I realize that providing food and encouragement is more important than ever. My friends and the people I serve often have nothing—they ask for socks, boots, and basic supplies. I am currently the only one gathering and distributing these items, and it has become difficult to keep up with the demand. I work two full-time jobs, and balancing everything can be challenging. This is not something I do for myself, but because it is needed in our community.
Now, I am hoping to take the next step by opening a feeding kitchen for the less fortunate. Funds raised will help me buy more peanut butter and jelly supplies, fruit, bottled water, socks, boots, and cover application fees to start the process for 501(c)(3) status. I would also deeply appreciate volunteers to help make sandwiches or even teams of people to distribute them. Your support—whether through donations, sharing this fundraiser, offering prayers and encouragement, or volunteering—will help me continue serving those in need and bring hope to our community.
