Many families in our community are facing a serious hardship due to the ongoing government shutdown. With SNAP benefits currently halted, countless individuals who rely on these resources are struggling to feed themselves and their children. These are not strangers — they are our neighbors, our police officers, our service members, hardworking families, and friends who now find themselves without support and without answers.

No one in our community should go hungry.

I am organizing a community food assistance effort to support local families in Naples and Fort Myers who are experiencing food insecurity due to this crisis. I am currently connecting with local food banks to determine the most urgently needed items and ensure donations go exactly where they are needed most.

Many of us know what it feels like to struggle — and many of us have been lifted up by the kindness of others before. Now, it’s our turn to lift up those in need.
