Help Farmers in Rajasthan Get a Distillation Unit

As many of you know, I have spent the last year in Rajasthan, helping farmers in water scarce areas. My project revolves around introducing highly profitable, water-efficient agriculture to revive farming in the village cluster I live in.

Thus far, I have introduced lemongrass and chamomile, with plans to introduce palmerosa, geranium, and turmeric in the next few months. All of these crops use very little water and can grow on any land, making them very convenient crops to grow for local farmers. They can be used to distill oil or create tea, which can be sold at a high profit in the marketplace.

We have procured great vendors to manufacture the machines that will help farmers distill the oil and create the tea out of their crops. We anticipate these machines to last a lifetime so we want to ensure the best quality and longevity. Both of these machines together cost about 500,000 INR (around 7,000 USD). I have secured the funding for 400,000 INR (around 5,500 USD).

I need your help in securing the additional 100,000 INR (1,500 USD) as quickly as possible. We need to submit the purchase order in the next two days to get the process going. Missing this deadline essentially means setting back construction by a few weeks, which will mean farmers will miss an entire harvest. Time is of the essence.

 

This project centers female, scheduled tribe, scheduled caste, and poor/illiterate farmers who are often left behind. Setting up these machines and completing this project will mean a significant livelihood lift, with many farmers seeing a 20-40% increase in annual income in the next 5 years. This is life-changing for most farmers who are part of this project.
