Help Farmer Gonzalo Distribute Veggies To His Community

Donation protected
Hi folks,

I’m Farmer Gonzalo, owner of Lomita Farm. I am reaching out asking for financial support to help me continue distributing free veggies to my immigrant community.

Since I started Lomita Farm in 2021, I have been able to grow and give out free veggies to roughly 100 households each summer. I would love to be able to continue this work, however I am up against a significant challenge this year. I am moving the farm to a new site that does not have any of the infrastructure/facilities needed to farm. I am tasked with building and installing water irrigation lines, wash/pack, cooler space, and more. The estimated cost for all of this is roughly $35,000. My plan was to pay for these farm projects with grants and government programs, however much of the funding for these programs have been terminated by the current administration. And because of my immigration status I am not eligible for any loans. As I’ve exhausted all other financing options, I am turning to my community to support me in this endeavor.

Whether it's donating or simply sharing this fundraiser, I appreciate any and all support reaching this goal! Farming for my community has been a labor of love and I hope you can support me in pursuing this vision for food justice and sovereignty. Thank you!

Below is a breakdown of what I plan to do with the money raised:
-Installing irrigation lines/supplies $10,000
-Electrical work for propagation house/walk in cooler $3000
-Shipping Container for securely storing farm tools/supplies $5000
-10’X20’ Walk in cooler $12,000
-Coolbot Refrigeration system $1000
-Wash and pack set up $2000
-Miscellaneous/buffer $2000
