From the heart of the Gaza Strip, I write to you… not as a writer or a storyteller, but as a human being writing with unbearable pain, and as a father afraid to watch his children wither away before his eyes.
I am Farid… not just a name, but the story of a man who dreamed of a simple life, only to wake up to the nightmare of an endless war. I had a home… a home I built stone by stone, dream by dream, and night after night of toil. I thought it was safety… but it became a memory buried under the rubble.
In a single moment, everything was taken from us…
We took nothing with us but trembling souls and hearts that didn't know where to turn.
We emerged from the bombardment carrying nothing but each other… as if survival itself was another kind of pain, because we left behind a whole life.
Since that day, we have been living an endless journey of displacement…
We walk not knowing where we will sleep,
We sleep not knowing if we will wake up.
Every day I ran between life and death… searching for medicine for my mother, and for food for my children. I tried to be strong… but inside I was silently crumbling.
Then I lost my mother… She passed away needing medicine I couldn't find, and comfort I couldn't provide.
She left a void in my heart that nothing can fill… and a feeling of helplessness that will never leave me. And today…
I am a weary body, a burdened soul, and a father who fears his children will grow accustomed to hunger…
That they will grow up believing that pain is life.
My children don't ask for toys…
They ask: Will we eat today?
And that question alone is enough to break anyone's heart.
We are not asking for the impossible…
We are only asking to live as human beings, to have a roof over our heads, a morsel to silence our hunger, and warmth to ease the harshness of the nights.
Your donation… however small, is not just money…
It is a life given,
It is a tear wiped away,
It is a heart that is given back some of its beat. You may not see us, but we feel you…
You may not hear our voices, but our prayers reach you.
Be our support in a time when we have no one left…
Be the mercy we seek amidst this pain.
Perhaps your donation today will be the reason we live tomorrow.
And if you are unable to donate, sharing this message may reach someone who can lend a helping hand.
I send you these words with complete faith in your humanity and generosity.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who reads, to everyone who helps, and to everyone who shares the link.
