Aloha family, friends, and community. We are raising support for my ‘Ohana, including our newborn, as we recover from the devastation Hurricane Lala caused to our site in Nāʻālehu. We are deeply grateful that our family made it through the storm safely, but the damage left behind has been overwhelming. Severe storm and water intrusion destroyed furnishings, interior contents, and important infrastructure. While the main structures are still standing, much inside was lost. This site was not only a home, but also a healing sanctuary and primary source of income that helps sustain our family. Losing that livelihood suddenly has created an enormous burden at a time when we’re already stretched as new parents. This site has also been a healing space for many in our community, and it means so much to us to be able to restore what has been offered there.
Right now, we need immediate help with storm cleanup, hauling, and remediation so we can salvage what remains before mold and water damage spread even further. Your support will help us begin restoring our site, replace what was destroyed, and recover from the sudden loss of income so we can focus on caring for our newborn during this tender postpartum season. Contributions will also help us continue to serve our community and rebuild the healing space that has held so many. If you are able to give, we are so grateful. If you cannot give financially, sharing this fundraiser or holding our family in your hearts means so much to us. Thank you for surrounding our growing family with love during this time of restoration.
