Help Family Overcome Medical and Job Loss
Donation protected
As many know, we are expecting our 6th child come February and we couldn’t be more excited. However, pregnancy has taken a huge toll on not only me, but now our entire family.
I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum early on, which is a severe form of “morning sickness,” except that it lasts for days, with no end in sight. I’m on numerous medications and I have weekly, sometimes 2x a week visits to the clinics for IV fluids and medications. These all add up in medical costs. Due to this sickness and constant appointments, my normal hours at work have been cut drastically. I’m hardly able to make it a full week at work. My job is extremely physically demanding, and my body doesn’t have the strength to keep up.
On top of my own medical issues, Matt was let go from his job right as this was all playing out, to absolutely no fault of his own. A job he dedicated almost an entire decade to. He has and continues to bust his butt finding jobs that he can do as his profession. This even involves traveling out of town for a week at a time, which leaves me home without a vehicle.
To be frank, we aren’t making it. We are struggling, along with every other family out there, I know. We have signed up for WIC and are in the process of getting state help, but it’s exactly that, an entire process, and we don’t know when or if we’ll receive any help from it.
So I’m going way out of my comfort zone and coming to my friends and family for help. We can barely afford groceries at this point, we are behind on our bills, and frankly, we’re terrified of what that means for our family.
