A beloved and long-time cook was detained by immigration and customs officials on Nov 4 while he was driving to work at the restaurant my husband and I own in Chicago. He has no criminal record and is a responsible, hard-working, wonderful person. He worked at our restaurant for 14 years, and we are devastated this happened. He supports his family and has three children.

UPDATE: he has been deported to Mexico and has arrived safely.

Please consider donating whatever you can to support his family in the United States cover his lost wages, and to help him get back on his feet in Mexico.

We will distribute 50% of the funds to his family in the United States and wire 50% of the funds to him in Mexico. His adult daughter Jocelyn will be managing and distributing the funds on behalf of his family.
