Help family of 5 with funeral for twin
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Miranda Michel and I live in small town in Texas with my three children and my husband. In April, when I was 16 weeks pregnant with twins, they were diagnosed with OEIS Syndrome, meaning their stomachs were outside their body, their spines were twisted, one had a deformed kidney and a hole in the bladder. I was told there was zero chance of survival.
There was nothing doctors could do for my twins. My family was devastated. The pregnancy itself was complicated too. I was put on bedrest early on and shortly thereafter lost my job. My husband also lost his job, so we fell behind on rent.
On top of losing our jobs, I couldn’t get the abortion care I needed in Texas, and I didn’t have the money or time off from work or my other children to travel to another state that would allow me to make the best choice for me and my family and my future.
I had to put my twins to rest in August, after holding them for a couple of hours. It was the most emotional thing I have ever gone through. I had to pay for the funeral. My husband has finally been able to secure a factory job slaughtering chickens. But I still can’t go back to work. With only one income for my three children and my husband and me, we’re unable to make ends meet. We’re working on a payment plan with our landlord, but we’re at the brink of risking eviction. We need help from our community to get back on track.
I would so appreciate any love that could be shown to my family.
Thank you
