Help Family During Long Recovery Period

Just got some news after almost a month in the hospital that I need surgery. They are removing quite a bit of my intestines, and the downtime is months of recovery at least. With the job I have, it isn't easy to go back right away. I've already used all my vacation and sick days. I will also be trying to apply for short-term disability. Being the main breadwinner, I cannot support my family, and my wife doesn't make enough. Please help with anything to help my family pay the bills and buy food.
