On November 12, 2023, The Plokhotnichenko family was notified of their father Hennadii passing. Liliya, her son Ernest, and daughter Violeta were left without a father and a husband that day, unable to say goodbye and see him one last time before his passing. Due to difficult circumstances, they were unable to bring him back to the United States to lay him to rest, and over the course of the past few weeks struggled to return him home to Ukraine. Liliya is now a single mother struggling to support her family in this tragic time while dealing with the pain of losing a loved one. She has spent these past few weeks searching for a job that would cover all of her family's expenses. Ernest, a Junior in high school, has begun to work to help his mother and support his family, but it is not enough to cover the costs of his father's passing. Soon, he will begin to apply to college, and his time will be focused on doing so, leaving less time for his job to support his family. Violeta is a freshman in highschool, a pivotal point in her life and her education, and all her time should be focused on succeeding. This family has suffered enough since the day they were notified of this tragedy, and they should not continue to do so. Ernest and Violeta should continue to focus on school rather than worrying about how they will manage a job or their family's expenses, and Liliya should focus on being there to emotionally support her family rather than spending days and nights working to financially support them.
