With the leadership of our beloved Sandy Stewart and her many weekly volunteers, the Denver Green School community food pantry feeds over 2,500 people every week — at DGS, Thrive Behavioral Health in Englewood, and Crossroads Community Center in Montbello. In the past year, over 1,500,000 pounds of food have been distributed to residents of Denver via the food pantry.

We serve families in Denver’s lowest-income areas, some neighborhoods officially considered a food desert. Many of the families we see are doing everything they can to get by, but lately, things have gotten even harder.

Because of delays and cuts to SNAP (food stamp) benefits, more families are turning to us for help each week. With Thanksgiving approaching, the number of people in need of food is growing faster than we can keep up with.

We need help to make sure no one is turned away hungry. Every donation goes directly toward buying food and keeping our shelves stocked for families in need.
