Help families seeking asylum

January 2023, 16 individuals made the courageous journey to Fresno, California, seeking asylum from political and economic turmoil in their homeland.

The families entered the United States through the southern boarder in Texas, then shipped to Colorado where they braved the winter conditions, before making their way to the city of Fresno.

While the 16 individuals were granted legal entry and asylum parole, the families face a long wait for their court hearing dates, scheduled for 2025.

City Council, District 3, Councilmember Miguel Arias first made contact with the families February 1st, and has since connected with local organizations such as ELF for support and aid during this uncertain period the individuals find themselves caught in the midst in.

We ask the Fresno community for support to extend to the group of Venezuelan asylum seekers. Your generosity can make a great difference for their. lives a they await their hearings, and strive to build a future in the City of Fresno.
