Hi, my name is Kady-Ann Mingoes. I currently live in London, but my family and friends are from the Bedward Garden community in Jamaica, where my family was born and raised.
With the devastation caused by Storm Melissa, I’m raising funds to support families in Bedward Garden, who have been deeply affected. Over the past few days, the storm has brought severe flooding and destruction to the area. Many homes have been damaged, and families are struggling to access food, clean water, and other essentials.
Bedward Garden is a strong, close-knit community with deep roots and generations of families who have always looked out for one another. But right now, they need our help to get back on their feet.
I’m working closely with people on the ground to get supplies out to families as soon as possible. I’ll be sending barrels filled with food, supplies and essential items directly to Bedward Garden to ensure families receive immediate support.
Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards helping families in Bedward Garden with:
• Food and clean water
• Essential items
• Basic household supplies
• ❤️ Support for vulnerable residents, including children and the elderly
Our goal is between £1500-£3,500 to help meet urgent needs and get aid to those most affected as quickly as possible. If we exceed this goal, additional funds will go towards longer-term recovery and supporting rural communities from the most severely impacted regions.
This community means so much to me and my family it’s where our story began. Seeing the people struggling in the aftermath of this storm is truly heartbreaking, but I know that with our collective support, they can rebuild stronger than before.
If you’re able to donate, please do. And if not, please share this fundraiser so we can reach more people who may be able to help.
If you’re unable to support financially, please consider donating non-perishable foods or essential supplies such as toiletries, baby supplies, cleaning items, or elderly care products
I know this is just a small step toward healing the widespread devastation across Jamaica, but together, we can make a real difference one community at a time.
We likkle, but we tallawah!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, generosity, and prayers.
❤️ Kady
