Hi, my name is Mari and I am starting this fundraiser for my nephew, Ezra, on behalf of my sister, Sandra.
Ezra began experiencing symptoms a few months ago during the summer, around July where he began vomiting. We thought it was heat-related. Quickly progressing to daily vomiting for hours, doctors diagnosis was acid reflux. It got so bad, Sandra had to take him in to the emergency room almost twice a week. Doctors kept sending him home until Sandra demanded a CT scan when Ezra’s vision became severely impaired, vomiting daily, and screaming, excruciating headaches! Doctors then diagnosed Ezra with migraines but Sandra knew her baby and wasn’t leaving without a CT scan. Finally, they did the exam and discovered a brain tumor the size of a golf ball in Ezra’s little brain that was causing the debilitating headaches, vomiting and extreme double vision. On September 11, at 12:30 a.m., Ezra was transported by ambulance to the Oakland Kaiser NICU and was prepped for emergency surgery to remove tumor blocking cerebral fluid and brain swelling which was life threatening. The surgery was successful, however, the brain tumor was not 100% removed. Ezra will now require extensive radiation and chemotherapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy.
We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and a desperate plea for your support. Our beloved Ezra, a vibrant and loving child, has been diagnosed with childhood medulloblastoma, a rare and aggressive central nervous system (CNS) embryonal tumor. This devastating news has turned Ezra's world upside down, and we are rallying together to ensure that he receives the best possible care and a chance at a brighter future.
Ezra's Story:
Ezra is an incredible 11-year-old who has always been full of life and dreams. He loves spending time with his family, playing with his friends, and exploring the world around him. However, his recent diagnosis has shattered the innocence of his childhood.
Medulloblastoma is a type of brain cancer that primarily affects children. Ezra's journey has been marked by countless doctor's appointments, hospital stays, and treatments that no child should ever have to endure. He faces a long and challenging road ahead, including surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and rehabilitation.
Our Mission:
We are determined to do everything in our power to support Ezra and his family during this difficult time. The emotional and financial burden of managing Ezra's illness is overwhelming. Medical bills, travel expenses, and the need for specialized care all add up quickly.
We are asking for your help to alleviate some of this burden. Your generous contributions will go toward:
1. Medical Expenses: Covering the costs of surgeries, treatments, and medications.
2. Travel and Accommodation: Ensuring Ezra and his family can access the best medical care, even if it requires travel.
• San Diego cancer treatment
3. Rehabilitation: Supporting Ezra's recovery and rehabilitation process.
4. Childcare and Support: Assisting his family with childcare and other necessities during this challenging time.
How You Can Help:
Your support, no matter how big or small, can make a significant difference in Ezra's battle against medulloblastoma. Here are ways you can contribute:
1. Donate: Every dollar counts, and your contribution will directly impact Ezra's treatment and well-being.
2. Share: Please share this fundraiser with your friends, family, and on social media to help us reach a wider audience.
3. Offer Your Prayers and Well-Wishes: Your love and encouragement mean the world to Ezra and his family.
Ezra's family is incredibly grateful for any assistance you can provide. Together, we can give this young warrior a fighting chance at beating medulloblastoma and experiencing the joy and laughter of childhood once again.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and compassion during this challenging time. Your support is a beacon of hope for Ezra and his family.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Valentin Family,
