In 2025, a group of committed women from diverse backgrounds came together under the name “Building Together” to support the mission and future of In Need Home (INH). Deeply moved by INH’s 20-year commitment to vulnerable children and families in the slums of Kampala, the women of Building Together have formed a solidarity network to mobilize resources, raise awareness, and contribute to the long-term vision of the organization.
Their goals are to:
Support the current fundraising campaign through collective outreach, events, and partnerships
Strengthen INH’s visibility both locally and internationally by amplifying its voice and impact stories
Contribute to sustainability by helping INH expand its network of donors and collaborators
The association views INH not just as a beneficiary but as a partner in shared values: empowerment, dignity, and social justice. Together, Building Together and INH are laying the foundation for a more inclusive and hopeful future for Kampala’s most vulnerable communities.
In Need Home (INH) is a Ugandan non-profit organization based in the Namuwongo slum of Kampala. Since 2003, INH has supported vulnerable children, single mothers, and disadvantaged families through education, protection, health, and economic empowerment programs. Over the past 20 years, INH has:
Educated over 6,000 children—many now professionals
Empowered 2,000 single mothers
Trained 1,200 youths in vocational skills
Rescued and reintegrated numerous children from trafficking and exploitation
Operating in nine slums, INH provides direct services such as education sponsorships, vocational training, healthcare, daycare for trafficked children, and nutrition support. Its mission is to drive lasting change in the lives of underprivileged children and their families through inclusive, community-based development.
