Help EWB build a learning center in Yumbe, Uganda

Our Engineers Without Borders Chapter at George Washington University needs your help! We are a dedicated team working towards constructing a vital learning center in Yumbe, Uganda, a rural town facing an educational gap due to rapid population growth and a lack of resources.
While working with an NGO local to the community, we visited Yumbe on an assessment trip to ensure we designed a building tailored to the community's needs. Our upcoming summer trip will mark the beginning of construction on this essential facility. Meticulously designed, the center will include a library, a computer lab featuring PCs crafted by our team, an early childhood development center, study rooms, a conference space, and a rainwater collection system to benefit the community.
Currently, Yumbe relies on a small structure with lacking resources as its only library. With no other libraries in the entire West Nile region of Uganda, our project will have a profound impact on education throughout the area. By building this new facility, we can transform the old library into a printing center, creating a sustainable income to support the ongoing needs of the learning center.
This initiative aims to narrow the education gap prevalent in Yumbe, empowering residents with skills for better employment opportunities. While we've secured some funding through grants and other means, we still need your support.
Your donations will directly fund materials, local contractors, and books for the library and reduce transportation costs for our team. Help us by sharing our campaign on social media and with your contacts. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to our mission of enhancing educational opportunities for generations in Yumbe. Together, let's make a lasting impact on this community's future.
