I have been given an incredible opportunity to join a Camps International expedition to Cambodia — a journey that combines cultural immersion, humanitarian action, environmental conservation, and personal development.

This expedition is packed full of culture and adventure. I will play an active role in important community development projects, working alongside local communities to support sustainable improvements to daily life in rural areas. From helping with vital infrastructure to learning directly from local people, this experience focuses on long-term, ethical impact rather than short-term aid.

Cambodia is a truly remarkable country, rich in history, resilience, and culture. Living and working within local communities will allow me to experience the real heart of this South-East Asian gem — learning about traditional customs, understanding its complex past, and sharing in everyday life, including sampling its incredible cuisine. Time will also be spent in Cambodia’s two largest cities, offering a deeper understanding of the contrasts between urban and rural life.

Environmental sustainability is a key part of this expedition. I will also be working towards my PADI scuba diving qualification, learning the fundamentals of scuba diving while surrounded by crystal-clear waters and vibrant tropical marine life. This training promotes marine awareness, ocean conservation, and respect for fragile underwater ecosystems — skills and values that will stay with me for life.

This journey will challenge me, build my independence, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and inspire a lifelong commitment to making a positive difference in the world.
