Hi, my name is Eve, and thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. I’m 18 years old and currently a college student studying childcare, which I will complete in May this year. From a young age, I’ve known that I want to be a teacher. Working with children, supporting their development and helping them feel safe, confident and inspired to learn. As part of my journey into education, I’ve been given the incredible opportunity to travel to Ghana in August to volunteer in a childcare and school programme. While there, I’ll be working with young children in classroom settings, supporting teachers and helping provide care, learning and encouragement to students who may not always have access to the resources they deserve. This experience would mean everything to me. Not only would it allow me to put my studies into practice, but it would also help me grow as a person and as a future teacher. Learning from a different culture and education system will shape the kind of teacher I hope to become, compassionate, open-minded and committed to making a real difference in children’s lives. I’m fundraising to cover the cost of flights to Ghana, which is the biggest barrier standing between me and this opportunity. Every donation, no matter how small, would bring me one step closer to volunteering and giving back through education and childcare. If you’re unable to donate, even sharing this page would mean the world to me. Thank you for supporting my dream and helping me take this important step toward my future.
