Help Evan Athre Transform Prosper High's Garden
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Evan Athre and I am currently working toward my Eagle Scout rank in Troop 289 based out of Prosper, Texas. I am a sophomore at Prosper High School and am a part of the Cattle Show Team through the Prosper FFA. I wanted to pick a project that was close to my heart and involved agriculture. There are 248,416 operating farms in Texas that currently feed more than 27 million Texans. These same Texas farmers will be asked to feed an estimated 54.4 million Texans by 2050.
It was important to me that my project fulfilled my Eagle Scout requirements but also benefitted the agriculture program at my school and encouraged other students to become involved in these programs.
The goal of my project is to revitalize our current unusable school garden and planter boxes to be used by our culinary, floral and horticulture programs. I will do this by rebuilding the current 7 large plantar boxes as well as developing and building a sustainable pathway system to make the garden more user friendly and functionable. This area will be used in conjunction with the greenhouse where students will learn to grow and harvest various plants, fruits and vegetables during agriculture class lessons.
The funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will be used for supplies to make this project a success. A detailed supply list can be made available upon request. Thank you for your interest and support of my Eagle Scout journey!
