Eva has faced a challenging year after losing her husband, a retired military veteran, to cancer. Since his passing, she’s been staying at a rehab health center, unable to return home until essential repairs are made. The house, which holds so many memories for our family, needs new flooring in the hallway and kitchen to ensure Eva’s safety and comfort. These repairs are crucial for her to be able to move around safely and regain her independence.

We’re hoping to have everything ready so Eva can come home by the end of the month or the beginning of next month. In the meantime, I’ve been keeping her busy with visits to the house to check on what needs to be done, handling paperwork, and spending time together at local parks or getting ice cream. We’re also encouraging her to reconnect with her love for quilting and knitting, which has always brought her joy.

Right now, we’re exploring the best way to get the repairs done quickly and safely, whether that means hiring a professional contractor or working with a trusted friend of my dad’s. Any support will help us make Eva’s home safe again and bring her back to the place she loves.
