Esperanza is a devoted mother of two young girls, ages 1 and 3, who has been working tirelessly to provide for her family. I had the privilege of meeting her 14 years ago when she was in the foster care system as her mentor and I have watched her grow into a caring, mature, and responsible woman. Despite her strength and determination, Esperanza and her family are facing an incredibly difficult time. Her husband was recently laid off, and without reliable family support, they are struggling to afford even the most basic necessities, including rent and childcare.

Esperanza dreams of going to CNA school and one day become a scrub tech so she can secure a stable job with benefits and create a better future for her daughters. However, the cost of childcare and tuition is overwhelming, and she simply cannot manage it on her own. I have helped her with rent in the past, but I want to do more to help her break this cycle and build a brighter future.
