Help Erin Rebuild Her Healing Garden

My name is Erin; I'm a former special education teacher, mom to a mentally disabled teenager, and I'm a disabled trauma survivor whose healing journey relies heavily on my yearly garden. The act of sowing seeds, creating and caring for new life with environmentally conscious methods, and providing nourishment and enrichment for my family has been incredibly therapeutic.

On Sunday, April 27th, I woke up to discover more than two-thirds of my entire garden was dead, poisoned by my neighbors' landscaping company when they sprayed the next lot for weeds on a windy day.

This year has been particularly difficult already, given the state of the world and country, and this is a devastating loss to us in so many capacities. With the cost of our monthly medications sharply increasing, hours lost at my husband's job, etc., the financial loss alone (hundreds spent on preparing the garden space, the soil and amendments, the water and energy) will be so hard to recover.

A friend suggested I create this GoFundMe even though I've never done one before. It's early enough in the season that I may be able to recover the garden if the funds are there. Thank you so much for reading.
