On October 16, 2026, our dear friend Erin Garcia lost their home, car and everything they owned in a devastating apartment fire in Woodstock, NY. Thankfully, they were able to make it out of the fire safely with their 2 cats (Raven and Figgy), and even helped one of their neighbors escape as well.

And honestly, if you know Erin, that probably tells you everything you need to know about the kind of person they are. They are such a sweet and kind soul, down to earth, an animal lover, and someone who cares about others and their community. Even in the middle of something so terrifying and traumatic like this fire, they were looking out for someone else..

We're so grateful that Erin and their 2 cats have somewhere safe to stay (with their sister and brother-in-law) for the foreseeable future, but they’ve been through so much and they lost everything.. rebuilding is going to take a lot of time, healing, mental energy and money.

We’re starting this GoFundMe to help Erin get back on their feet and start rebuilding their life. This includes finding a new home, replacing their car (to get to and from work/school), buying clothes and shoes, getting food for themselves (and their cats) and everyday essentials. Even replacing all the little things you don't really think about until they're gone like towels, bedding, pots and pans and toiletries. We also want to make sure their two cats have everything they need.
