Help Erin Gardner Fight For TRANSPARENCY
This is 2020. Women should not be belittled and be made to feel inferior by chauvinistic, power hungry men!
Erin is the Superintendent of the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Watertown. For the last nine years, Erin has been the person who ensures that any and all local families are able to enjoy an excellent quality of life while participating in a variety of safe, fun and family friendly events.
For those of you who are not aware, Erin filed a complaint with the City of Watertown and with the NYS Division of Human Rights in regards to discriminatory behaviors and a hostile work environment created by the former City Manager as well as Watertown City. Erin stepped up and used her voice for not only her concerns, but for the concerns of many others that were too afraid to come forward. She has been met with resistance from the day she filed her complaint, from Human Resources as well as the City Attorney. Members of City Council were aware of Erin’s complaint and even encouraged her to come forwards and file the complaint and now that same City Council is trying to remove her from her position. Her personnel file is impeccable.
Watertown City Officials are continuing to retaliate against Erin!
Erin has been fighting for transparency and policy changes to ensure all employees have a fair work environment. The City used taxpayer dollars to pay for an independent investigation, but they never officially released the results of the report. “WHAT IS WATERTOWN HIDING??”
Erin has helped out and organized fundraisers and benefits for many people and non-profits over the years. She is the first to help out when someone needs it. Now it is our time to help her.
Due to the ongoing legal dispute, Erin has piled up an enormous amount of legal fees. To continue this fight for TRANSPARENCY AND POLICY CHANGE, Erin needs our help. The City suspended her without pay and no notice. They are denying her to use her accrued vacation time as well. She has yet to hear from NYS on the determination of her unemployment benefits.
A win for Erin is a win for all women. It’s time to stand up and let the world know, we are done with discriminatory behavior and treatment!
Any amount will help! Thank you for helping Erin in her quest for equality and transparency.
