Help Erin and Her Kids Secure a Home

This is definitely what I would call a hail Mary, or the 11th hour has arrived. This Go fund me is for a mom and her kids that I've met in the last couple of years and become friends with. And she was my neighbor in the apartment complex I last lived in. She became homeless last year but the saving Grace is she has a section 8 voucher. There is a very large population of homeless in San Diego county. Some are Street homeless which is the absolute hardest .Some like myself are in a program that is Housing them temporarily, but my friend and her Three sons have become basically couch surfers. The oldest one is now 20 and he recently went to Colorado because where he was staying was not good for him emotionally or mentally. He would prefer to be with his younger brothers and his mother.. The middle son will be a junior and his freshman year in high school he was named athlete of the year. I only say that because for a child to receive that prestigious of an award means that child is very dedicated and self-disciplined and obviously there's somebody at home cheering him on. The youngest is in Middle School. The youngest is with Mom, the middle one has been staying with friends different friends. When they ask why I'm involved, this is my friend. Creating a GoFundMe is an easy thing to do but I couldn't just watch what could happen Friday at 5:00 p.m. become reality. The landlord has given her until Friday to come up with the deposit. Otherwise he will rent to someone else. And section 8 has said the extensions are exhausted and she will also lose her section 8 voucher. In my opinion in, adding insult to injury. A mom, a single mom with minor children are the ones I believe should be helped first My friend and I have gone to so many places asking and knocking and hoping and nothing. We have found that there's the possibility of help but it's too late. The landlord's not going to give her another week and it is understandable, the frightening part is losing that voucher. Because in San Diego Lord knows it's one of the highest rental rates in the country. My hope is that if this is shared, and people understand how dire the situation is and gave$10.......if 300 people saw and donated it would be done. I understand this is a lot to ask for

What you'll be doing is bringing them back together . My friend does not have relatives to turn to or rely on, so therefore there's no one to ask for help. I offered to create a GoFundMe not knowing what the outcome might be but this is not a frivolous ask. I asked my friend to write out her story and you will find it below. I also asked my son John David before I ever wrote this if it was something that I ended up writing would he share it? Because we have less than 40 hours for this to happen. I'm asking for a miracle. I'm asking for us as a group of people to band together and and be the miracle that brings this family back together. She does have a couple of appointments in the not so distant future but not in time.

As for myself, in August it will be2 years that I will have been homeless. Not in my wildest dreams did I think it would take so long but the need is so extreme for so many others. But this is a woman with kids God bless each and everyone of you.

Hello, my name is Erin Kerchner. I am in desperate need of help as me and my kids have been experiencing homelessness for over a year. I finally found a place and I just need help with a deposit. I have approached the agencies that would help, but they're out of funding right now and I do not want to lose the house that I found. I also don't want to lose my section 8. I only have 5 days to come up with the deposit, so if anyone can please help, any little bit will be appreciated. Thank you. If everyone can share also, that would be greatly appreciated too.

I really need this for my kids. We have been apart due to not having a stable place to live. I'm just trying to get my family back together, get us back to having our own place to live and stable living.
